Discover #PodcastPD Content with @ClammrApp

One of the hottest Twitter chats that has popped up in recent weeks is #PodcastPD. That chat is all about using podcasts as a professional and personal development resource.

Stacey Lindes, AJ Bianco, and I moderate the chat on Sunday night’s at 8:30 PM Eastern. The 30 minute discussion includes two questions related to using podcasts for self learning and how to bring podcasts into the classroom and use them with students.

While it seems like podcast consumption is on the rise with the recent success of Serial from This American Life, and just about anything from NPR, it can be a daunting task for some to discover great content to subscribe to.

Enter the Clammr app for improved content consumption and discovery.

What is Clammr?

iTunes Description: Today’s News & Entertainment in 18 seconds or less. Listen to a personalized, continuous stream of short audio clips featuring today’s music, comedy, podcasts, and news summaries from the sources you love, like NPR, The Onion, Jimmy Fallon, Urban Dictionary, TechCrunch, Re/code, NBA, HuffingtonPost, E!, Gawker, Jezebel, Cosmopolitan, Chow, Deadline Hollywood, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Time Magazine, and many more.

Key Features of Clammr:

  • Free and unlimited audio streaming
  • Stay connected with the world while in your car or getting ready for work
  • Create and share custom Channels that include your favorite users
  • Social – find, share, follow, and interact with people in a more intimate way
  • No ads

The convenience that I like most about Clammr is that I can use the app and interact with content when I want. If one of the 18 second clips hooks me I can access the full content with one click. I can be taken to a full article or website. If the clip is from a podcast episode the podcaster may have linked directly to either their show notes or the complete audio file which will start to play right in Clammr.

I have added House of #EdTech to Clammr and I am happy to be one of their featured podcasts! Sample how it works via this widget:

This has allowed me to post highlights of my content and make it even easier for others to discover and find value in. If you get Clammr let me know what you think in the comments below!

Thanks for reading, viewing, and sharing!
