Do we still need edtech coaches? Are edtech coaches respected?
You just don’t know yet…
Since January 5, 2014, I’ve been telling you that using technology isn’t difficult and that all you need to do is just give it a try. While I’ve been hammering home that idea for 7 years I’ve been subscribed to it for much longer than that. Hence the podcast itself.
Technology is easy to use you just might not know how to use some of it.
But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. How many tools do you hear about that you never try? Think of the countless tools that you never get to.
I recently heard Jake Miller on EDUDT talk about all the tools that are out there and in comparing the tech to actual tools – Jake I’m a Home Depot guy too – he made a great point about not needing to have all the different types of drills or saws, etc. It’s OK to have your go-to tools and not necessarily have EVERY tool.
Awareness is important though. Knowing when to use which technology is valuable. But I am concerned with the idea of still not trying.
If 2020 reinforced anything we already knew it’s that things are going to go wrong but that doesn’t stop us. Fear of failing or not knowing how to do something doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.
I believe in being open-minded and when I apply that to edtech the possibilities are endless and we capable of so many things that will impact our students in amazing ways.
What tool could you give another try?
What have you been on the fence about even checking out?
I want to help you get over whatever hump or obstacle you’re facing.
2021 for me, will be about pushing as many people as possible to do something. I’m starting with you.
It’s going to get better and brighter days are ahead. This I know right now.

He recently posted his first blog post in 18 months. I read his post and was genuinely moved by his words and what he shared. After reading it I immediately reached out to him and asked if I could share it here on the show and said I could.
