Being Open-minded
As teachers, we are responsible for shaping our students' minds and hearts and creating an environment that fosters empathy, understanding, and acceptance. By being open-minded, we can better understand and appreciate the unique perspectives our students bring to the classroom, create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment, and continually refine our teaching methods. The article highlights that being open-minded does not mean abandoning our values and beliefs but rather considering alternative viewpoints to make informed decisions for our students' best interests. Cultivating open-mindedness as a teacher is essential for both personal and professional growth and the success of our students.
I'm delighted to be joined by Logan Greenhaw, the founder of AutoClassmate.io, an AI platform dedicated to helping educators like you do more of what you enjoy... teaching. Educator, Creator
Logan Greenhaw is an 8th Grade English Language Arts teacher at a public school in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He is also the creator of Auto Classmate, a website that features a digital suite of AI-powered tools to help educators create more meaningful and dynamic moments in classrooms.
Before becoming a teacher, Logan studied Religion and Philosophy in undergrad and graduate school. After undergrad, Logan and his partner, Morgan, thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. During graduate school, Logan developed a deep appreciate for technology and became a freelance web developer/designer.
After listening to his loving partner, Morgan, he was reminded of and finally rediscovered his passion for helping others learn in a life-giving manner. In 2021, Logan began teaching full-time, but continued to develop websites on the side. By fusing together his passions for teaching and web development, Logan was able to create Auto Classmate.
