Featured Content

Cade Somers and Michelle Shelton are both English teachers from Oxford High School (Alabama). They are the co-hosts of the Across the Hall Podcast and in our conversation, they provide insight into their use of education technology in the English classroom.

Cade’s a corny-humored transplanted Hoosier who loves spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys playing basketball, running, and playing front-yard Wiffle ball where he amazingly never strikes out. He’s been sucked into the world of podcasting to now crave every learning opportunity it provides (and every moment of torture his second-hand-hearing children endure). His current top 5: Ask PatUnder the InfluenceHouse of EdTechWired Educator, and The Art of Manliness.

You will quickly notice from her accent that Michelle was born and raised in the South. During her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, daughters, and pets. She enjoys planting flowers, taking pictures, and belting out Broadway tunes. You may have a difficult time understanding her humor if you are not fluent in Friends quotes and all things Gilmore GirlsPride and Prejudice is her favorite movie, Harry Potter her favorite book series, and To Kill a Mockingbird her favorite book. Coffee helps her function, social events make her nervous, and opossums give her the creeps.

Michelle has taught English for over seventeen years. Over the course of her career as an educator, she has taught at both the junior high and high school levels.
